St Joseph Island really is “Yours to Explore”. Rolling countryside, panoramic vistas, sandy beaches, historic buildings, country roads under a woodland canopy, scenic public and private gardens, quaint villages with gift shops and galleries, and everywhere friendly island folk.
St Joseph Island is located just 30 minutes east of Sault Ste. Marie and is accessible by way of a free bridge.
The St. Joseph Island Chamber of Commerce invites you to come and spend time on our beautiful island and enjoy its natural beauty or one of the many festivals and events that happen throughout the year.
In Spring, come see how maple syrup is made or in Summer, enjoy our many beaches and fish the surrounding waters. Come Autumn, Mother Nature turns the island’s woodlands into a symphony of colour. For winter sports enthusiasts, we are conveniently located between the Ontario and Michigan trail systems so the island is at the hub of snowmobile activities. There are also miles of private and public groomed cross country ski trails on St. Joseph Island.
The Chamber of Commerce and its members offer tourist information in print and online, a FAIR EXCHANGE program on American currency and friendly service wherever you go.
