Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site of Canada
From 1796 to 1812 this British outpost was a thriving community of soldiers, Aboriginal people and fur traders. Today, Parks Canada operates this archaeological site featuring the ruins of the old fort, a visitor centre, museum, theatre, gift shop, and several kilometres of nature trails. Open Wednesday through Sunday 10 - 5 in June. Seven days a week 10 - 5 from July 1st to Labour Day and Wednesday through Sunday 10 - 5 from the day after Labour Day until September 30th.
